With songs about blood & dusty bibles, black crows & barbed wire, there's a "prairie gothic" theme that runs through their music.
The Stillhouse Poets are a roots duo from Regina, Saskatchewan, the heart of the Canadian prairies. Their influences are drawn deep from the musical well waters of the Mississippi Delta and the Appalachian mountains.
Both their albums have been given a stripped down treatment. There's no lipstick or rouge - just foot stompin' grit. It's folk music with some dirt on it.
She usually pulls up to the gig in a Chevy Silverado. “My husband traded his Harley for a camper then he had to buy a truck to pull it – it’s mostly what I drive”.
There’s plenty of room for her guitar in the crew cab. Kara Golemba brings well crafted songs with her as well. Polaroids taken from her life and the world around her. She can rattle the teacups with her voice if she wants to. Or she’ll give it a mixture of warm honey with just the right amount of true grit.
Golemba is bringing it all to Wolseley from Indian Head. She'll be playing songs from her just released debut EP "Every Little Light".
